The Hermesys ChimeraX™ FR Armor 24F Cable (Tight Buffer) is a fire-retardant, double-armored fiber optic cable with individually tight-buffered fibers, built for industrial and plenum-rated environments where direct termination and mechanical protection both matter.

• 24 fibers in 900μm tight buffer construction let each fiber be handled and terminated individually, without breakout kits or loose-tube gel cleanup
• Aramid yarn strength member supports tensile loads while keeping the cable core non-metallic
• Water block yarn limits water migration along the cable if the outer construction is compromised
• 2 layers of fire barrier tape shield the fiber core from heat, supporting the cable’s fire-retardant and fire-resistant performance
• 2 layers of 0.2mm corrugated steel tape armor give strong mechanical and rodent-resistant protection for demanding industrial routing
• LSOH inner and middle sheaths keep smoke and halogen emissions low for enclosed or populated spaces
• Plenum-rated OFNP outer sheath, oil-resistant to UL 62, suits air-handling spaces and oil-exposed industrial sites without a separate conduit
• Compact 17.3mm outer diameter and 298 kg/km weight keep the cable manageable to handle despite its double-armor, multi-jacket construction
• Tested to 1000N installation tension and 3000N/100mm short-term crush resistance, confirming the cable holds up to pulling loads and mechanical impact during deployment
