Hermesys R&D & Test Center

Hermesys develops, designs and tests its optical transceivers, cabling and connectivity products in-house. Every product starts with real project requirements and is verified in our own labs before it ships.

R&D Across Our Product Lines

Our engineering teams cover the full physical layer, from the optical module in the switch port to the cable in the duct, so each product line is designed to work with the others.

From Concept to Production

Development and manufacturing sit under one roof, so a design moves from prototype to volume production without changing hands.

Handling a glass fibre preform in a cleanroom
  • Requirement analysis. We start from the application: bandwidth, distance, host equipment, installation environment and applicable standards.
  • Design and prototyping. Engineers select materials, optics and construction, then build samples for evaluation.
  • Validation. Prototypes are tested for performance, compatibility and reliability in our labs (see Testing & Validation).
  • Production transfer. Approved designs move to our own production lines with defined inspection points.
  • Continuous improvement. Field feedback from projects feeds back into the next design revision.

Testing & Validation

Our optical transceivers and cable products are tested in our own labs before they ship. Project customers can also request testing on their target equipment, following the same five steps.

  1. Submit Request

Share the products, host equipment and application you want verified.

  2. Design Test Plan

Our engineers define test items, pass criteria and timeline.

  3. Build Test Environment

We set up the switches, instruments and cabling that match your scenario.

  4. Run Tests

Products are tested and every result is recorded against the plan.

  5. Deliver Report

You receive a test report summarising results and any recommendations.

Transceivers

Performance Testing

Transmit power, receiver sensitivity and digital diagnostics (DDM) checked against each module's specification.

Transceivers

Compatibility Testing

Modules coded and tested in NVIDIA, Cisco, Arista and Juniper switches to confirm link-up and stable operation.

Transceivers

Reliability Testing

Temperature chamber testing across the rated operating range.

Cables

Cable & Assembly Testing

Insertion loss, return loss and polarity checks on patch cords and trunks.

Custom Solutions

When a standard product does not fit, our engineers adapt it. Typical requests include:

Cable Construction

Fibre count, armour type, jacket material (LSZH, PE, PA12) and fire performance to suit the route.

Transceiver Coding

Modules coded and verified for your switch platform, data rate and reach.

Cable Assemblies

Patch cords and trunks built to length, connector type and polarity.

OEM & Labelling

Private labelling, sheath printing and packaging for distributors and project customers.
