The Hermesys ChimeraX™ 144F G652D Submarine Cable is a stainless steel tube (SST) unitube fiber optic cable built for underwater and riverbed deployment. Its triple-layer galvanized steel wire armour construction delivers exceptional mechanical strength and long-term reliability in demanding submarine and river-crossing environments.
Key Features and Benefits
- 144-fiber G652D single-mode capacity supports high-count long-haul submarine and river-crossing links
- Stainless steel tube (SST) fiber housing protects the fiber core from water ingress and crush forces at depth
- Triple-layer galvanized steel wire armour (inner, middle, outer) provides progressive mechanical protection against anchors, trawling, and abrasion
- High cable breaking load (510 kN nominal) gives confidence during long-span or deep-water laying operations
- Permanent tensile load rating of 100 kN nominal supports stable long-term in-service performance
- PP yarns outer sheath adds abrasion resistance while keeping the cable flexible for handling and laying
- Wide operating range down to -40°C in air and up to +30°C in water suits varied climate and installation conditions
- Reduced in-water weight versus in-air weight eases deployment and seabed laying operations
Typical Applications
- Subsea and River Crossing Fiber Links
- Long-Haul Submarine Telecommunications
- Offshore Platform and Island Connectivity
- Harsh Underwater Environments
