Hermesys LadonX™ indoor/outdoor light armoured fibre optic cable is a stranded loose tube design for telecom backbone, access line and Fibre to the Building / Fibre to the Premises (FTTB / FTTx) networks. The cable can be installed indoors, pulled into outdoor underground ducts, direct buried, or run overhead with the necessary accessories. It is available in singlemode and multimode (OM1–OM5) from 2 up to 144 fibres.
Features and Benefits
- Stranded multi loose tube construction — PBT tubes carrying up to 12 fibres each, for fibre counts up to 144 in a single cable.
- Selectable central strength member — dielectric FRP for a fully non-metallic core, or steel wire where higher tensile performance is preferred.
- Jelly-filled water blocking elements — an effective barrier against water ingress and longitudinal water migration along the core.
- Corrugated steel tape armouring — reliable rodent protection and high crush resistance for duct and direct buried routes.
- Black UV-stabilised LSOH jacket — low smoke zero halogen for indoor runs, UV resistant for outdoor exposure, so one cable covers the building entrance without a transition splice.
- Optional AT-AR additive — anti-termite / anti-rodent chemical additive available for high-risk buried routes in tropical soil.
- RoHS compliant — free of hazardous substances per RoHS 2002/95/EC.
Applications
- Long haul and metro telecom backbone links
- Access line and FTTB / FTTx feeder and distribution routes
- Outdoor underground duct installation
- Direct buried routes without additional ducting
- Overhead installation with the appropriate suspension accessories
- Indoor riser and building entrance runs where an LSOH jacket is mandated
