AT/AR Light Armour Fire Resistant Duct Cable, ChimeraX™

The Hermesys ChimeraX™ Light Armour Fire Resistant Duct Cable is a lightly armoured fibre optic cable built to survive fire. Its double-jacket, semi-dry construction is designed for critical telecom infrastructure spanning airports, tunnels, and industrial duct routes.

Key Features and Benefits

• A corrugated steel tape layer under the outer jacket resists rodents, termites, and moisture while adding crush protection
• Fire barrier tape helps the cable maintain circuit integrity, tested to survive 90 minutes at 750°C without a fibre break
• A non-metallic FRP central strength member keeps the cable lightweight and flexible, with no rust risk over its service life
• A semi-dry design combines water blocking yarns and double-layer water blocking tape for strong moisture resistance
• An added aramid yarn layer reinforces tensile strength beyond the FRP member, supporting demanding duct-pulling installations
• Dual LSOH inner and outer jackets limit smoke and toxic gas release, supporting safer evacuation if a fire occurs
• Available across a wide fibre count range, the cable suits both small duct runs and high-density backbone links
