ChimeraX™ Medium-Voltage Power Cables

Single-core 15 kV and 22 kV XLPE cables bring the utility medium-voltage supply from the substation to the on-site power modules. Armoured designs are made for direct burial.

  • 15 kV stainless steel tape armoured (SSTA) and 22 kV aluminium wire armoured (AWA) constructions
  • Compact stranded conductor, semi-conductive screens, XLPE insulation and copper tape screen
  • Anti-termite / anti-rodent outer jacket for direct-buried routes

From a single edge cabinet to a megawatt campus

The same product families scale across five deployment models, so cabling, power and pathways stay consistent as a site grows.

01

Micro data centre

Self-contained cabinets with integrated power, cooling and monitoring for branch, factory and edge sites.

02

POD

Rows of cabinets with aisle containment, in-row cooling and overhead pathways, deployed as one repeatable block.

03

Container DC

Pre-built IT modules that add capacity at the edge or beside an existing campus, without a new building.

04

Power container

Prefabricated power trains and skids that grow data hall power in steps, as IT load is added.

05

Traditional DC

Full fit-out of enterprise, colocation and hyperscale buildings, from the meet-me room to every rack.

Power containers protecting megawatt colocation sites

A global colocation provider chose Hermesys power containers for its edge network. It needed pay-as-you-go capacity that keeps pace with data centre growth, without giving up reliability or efficiency.

Designed, simulated and tested before it ships

Prefabricated modules are built and tested in our factories with a 2.4 MW load bank, a chiller station and 4,000 A switchgear, so on-site work is mostly connection and commissioning.

BIM layout & coordination

3D building information models plan the layout, cable trays, busway and cooling, and are reviewed in section views before anything is built.

CFD airflow analysis

Airflow is simulated for whole data halls, from 3.3 MW halls to high-density deployments of 80 racks at 18 kW each, and for prefabricated power modules.

ETAP power studies

Load-flow, efficiency and short-circuit studies size the breakers and set discrimination before the electrical design is frozen.

Structural testing to ISO 1496-1

Modules pass stacking, transverse and longitudinal rigidity, top and bottom lifting and restraint tests.

Coatings to ISO 12944

Corrosion protection is specified by environment: category C3 for typical sites and C5 for coastal or industrial locations.

Fire & weather protection

Container floors are tested for 2-hour fire integrity to BS 476-21, with sealed joints between modules and sloped roofs to shed rain.

Optional physical hardening

For high-security sites, 4 mm armour steel can be clad inside the container walls, certified to GA 164-2018 grade A.

Tier-trained design team

Engineers trained in Uptime Institute data centre design, operations and specialist programmes.
