The Hermesys HydraX™ 800G QSFP-DD Active Optical Cable (AOC) delivers high-bandwidth connectivity through an integrated multimode optical assembly. Eight retimed 100G PAM4 channels provide an aggregate Ethernet capacity of 800 Gb/s, enabling reliable data transmission across distances that exceed the practical reach of high-speed copper cables.
The cable combines 850nm VCSEL transmitters, PIN photodetectors and built-in clock and data recovery at both ends. Its fixed QSFP-DD to QSFP-DD construction reaches up to 60 metres over OM3 fiber or 100 metres over OM4 fiber, simplifying the deployment of high-density links without separate optical transceivers and patch cords.
